A Bel Air man was charged earlier this week after allegedly pointing a shotgun at roofers, who supposedly dropped roofing paper on his parked motorcycle.

Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, roofers were working at David Henninger's law office in the 300 block of Thomas Street when a man walked out of an apartment in the back of the building and shouted at the roofers for dropping roofing paper on his motorcycle, according to charging documents. Henninger is a prominent criminal defense attorney.

After yelling at the workers, the man, identified as Bryan Dale White, 32, went back into his residence and allegedly returned holding a black pistol grip shotgun, according to charging documents.

White sat down in a lawn chair, put the gun across his lap and started watching the men on the roof, charging documents state.

One of the roofers felt threatened and started to climb down a ladder, according to the report.

"When the victim mounted the ladder, the suspect worked the action of the shotgun, ejecting an object from the shotgun's chamber, then pointed the shotgun at the victim as he came down the ladder," according to charging documents.

At least four Bel Air Police Department marked cruisers responded to the scene, according to documents.

When police interviewed the suspect, they said he agreed with much, but not all, of the statements made by the victim and other witnesses.

According to charging documents, "White stated all the above was true; however, he denied pointing the shotgun at the victim."

Police arrested White and charged him with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

"When the shotgun was recovered, it was found to be loaded with five (5) 1-ounce slugs, four in the magazine tube and one slug in the chamber," charging documents said.
