Three people were injured in an accident Tuesday morning at a busy intersection outside Bel Air.
Around 11:10 a.m., Maryland State Police from the Bel Air Barrack responded to a call for an overturned vehicle at the intersection of Route 22 and Route 543 in Fountain Green. The overturned Toyota sport utility vehicle, which witnesses said flipped twice, was the at-fault vehicle in the two-vehicle accident, Maryland State Trooper Justin Wilson said.
The Toyota was turning left from Route 22 to head south on Route 543, when a Chevrolet, traveling east on Route 22, hit the Toyota on the passenger side, Wilson said. The driver of the Toyota was trapped in the SUV and needed to be extracted.
Both drivers and a passenger in the Chevrolet, the only people involved in the accident, were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air to be treated for minor injuries.
