Baton used in Edgewood hotel assault

A Parkville man was assaulted last week at an Edgewood area hotel, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to La Quinta Inn, in the 2100 block of Emmorton Park Road, Oct. 19 at 10:46 p.m., for a report of a man running through the hotel with a knife, according to a police report. The hotel is located next to the I-95/Route 24 interchange.

The man with the knife turned out to be one of the guest's ex-boyfriends, who, according to the woman, allegedly repeatedly beat her current boyfriend with an expandable baton.

The ex-boyfriend allegedly chased the current one through the lobby of the hotel before leaving, according to the report.

The injured man was found hiding in his vehicle in the parking lot, according to the report, with a swollen arm and two broken fingers.

No arrests were made.

Sheriff's police reports also show that on Oct. 18, at 12:45 a.m., there was an incident at Scotch Court and Singer Road in Abingdon, where a man and woman allegedly assaulted a 22-year-old man. No further details were available.
