Man transported to Upper Chesapeake after assault

A man was transported to a local hospital after being hit in the head with a glass bottle on Feb. 19.

The 38-year-old man, in the 800 block of Windstream Way in Edgewood, said he answered the door around 11:40 a.m. that Sunday to an unknown man he had seen before, according to a police report.

The man asked for another person and, when the resident turned to call for the other man, hit the 38-year-old in his head with a glass bottle.

Deputies responded to the residence around 11:54 a.m. and found the injured man lying on the floor with a bloody head. The assailant is described as 6-foot-tall and 170 pounds wearing black jeans, a black jacket and a yellow T-shirt.
