Neighbors applaud Edgewood woman's arrest

An Edgewood woman is facing a number of charges after allegedly threatening to burn her in-laws' house down last weekend.

During her arrest, neighbors gathered and expressed their appreciation to the arresting officers, police said. A judge has since ordered her to stay away from the neighborhood.

On Saturday night, Harford County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Acorn Ridge Court to assist in serving a protective order and handle a disturbance, according to charging documents.

The homeowners, James Farrell and Barbara McKinzie, obtained a protective order against their son, Joshua Sanders, and his wife, Nicole Baugh, according to charging documents and information provided at Baugh's bail review hearing Monday.

As Baugh waited for her husband to gather his things she allegedly began yelling and cursing at deputies, according to charging documents. She allegedly threatened to have deputies fired and allegedly told them to watch their backs, according to charging documents.

She finally said, "I'll come back later and burn this house down," according to charging documents.

After making the alleged threat, Baugh went downstairs to get her belongings and allegedly shattered a porcelain toilet, flooding the room, then walked out of the house, according to charging documents.

Baugh allegedly continued screaming and cursing outside, drawing neighbors outside, according to charging documents.

Deputies took Baugh into custody, but once in the back of the patrol car, started trying to kick out the back window, according to charging documents. Deputies then called for the prisoner wagon to transport Baugh to the Harford County Detention Center.

After deputies put her in the back of the prisoner wagon, "the neighbors started clapping, thanking them for taking Mrs. Baugh to jail," according to charging documents.

At her bail review hearing in Harford County District Court Monday, Baugh told the judge her husband received similar charges but was released.

"I got kept because of my mouth," Baugh said.

Baugh, 30, was charged with arson threat, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful police order, vandalism less than $500 and violating a protection order.

She is ordered not to return to the Acorn Ridge address, which she listed as her home address, as part of the protective order.

She was released from the county detention center Tuesday after posting $25,000 bail.
