1919 Sir Barton

The first Triple Crown winner in history, Sir Barton faced a major challenge in the fall of his three-year-old season from 1918 Derby winner Exterminator when the two were entered in the Havre de Grace Handicap. They both finished behind the top handicap horse Cudgel in what would go down as among the greatest races run at the Harford County track on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
