Casselberry police Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn isn't entirely "at fault" in this sad event. The sergeant's attorney shares some of the blame for carrying this lawsuit to the extent that Eichhorn did. I'm not so sure that Eichhorn was fully advised of the prospects for success, or the probable harm to her reputation and career.
If reputable attorneys refuse to prosecute the claim, then perhaps Eichhorn's only recourse might be through small claims court. Since most of the publicity about the case was to discredit Eichhorn, perhaps the media should have phrased all references to her as "Sgt. Eichhorn and her attorney, Mr./Ms.Whatever." The public would then know the full extent of who was responsible for this outrage.
