Little people to eat, meet in park

Little People of America District 4, Chapter 13, will have a Pack a Picnic meeting from 1 to 5.p.m. Sunday at Wooton Park in Tavares.

The hosts are Mark and Michele McCormick. Family members and friends are invited to attend the meeting and to join the group.

Benefit Italian feast

South Lake Adult Day Care will present its second annual fundraising Italian Feast and Silent Auction from 5 to 8.p.m. Saturday at Jenkins Auditorium, on Montrose Street in Clermont. Proceeds will go to South Lake Adult Day Care, which purchased and renovated a house on Chestnut Street in Clermont. Tickets are $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children. The meal will be pasta, salad, dessert and beverage. Additional auction tickets will be available at the door.

For the past 10 years, the staff at the day care has been assisting more than 150 physically challenged adults who live at home, by offering a licensed respite and activities program, supervised by trained health-care providers.

The Italian Feast also will benefit South Lake Adult Day Care in Clermont.

Auction items will feature a framed, limited-edition Thomas Kinkade print, passes to Disney and SeaWorld Orlando , discount coupons for area restaurants, gift items and appliances. Donated auction items will be on display for bidders to view.

Swing Band performs

The Lake County Swing Band will present an evening of music and dancing at 7:30.p.m. Friday at Lake Receptions, State Road 19-A between Eustis and Mount Dora. The dance will celebrate Lake Receptions' fifth anniversary.

Fall festival

The craft ministry of St. Paul Catholic Church, 1330 Sunshine Ave., Leesburg, will have a craft festival from 9.a.m. to 5.p.m. Saturday and 9.a.m. to 3.p.m. Sunday in the parish hall.

Crafts will include ceramics, jewelry, afghans and quilts, wooden figurines and scenes, face-painting, knitted and crocheted items, and holiday decorations, and there will be books and baked goods . Tickets will be sold for a prize drawing.

Volunteers needed

Pet-vaccine clinic

The Astor County Library will sponsor its fifth annual pet-vaccine clinic for dogs, cats and horses from 10:30.a.m. to 2:30.p.m. Saturday Oct 20 in the pavilion at the library, 54905 Alco Road.

All pets must be leashed or in a carrier.

Dr. David Malone will administer shots and check for heartworm and other parasites.

Rabies shots are $7.50, and other vaccines will be available at discounted prices. Medications will be sold.
