J.J. Redick loves playing at Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK — Madison Square Garden executives and marketers bill their venue as “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”

Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick happens to agree with them.

“This is the best place to play,” he said when asked about the Garden’s reputation.

“There is something about being in New York, at the Garden, playing the Knicks — it’s special, it’s different. The crowd’s great. They know basketball. It’s different than, like, in L.A., or Staples Center. You have the same theater lighting and everything, but the crowd here is just different. It’s a good place to play.”

Last season, Redick averaged 18.0 points and shot 65.0 percent from the field in two games at the Garden. The Magic went 1-1 in those games.
