Disney villains will increase their presence at Magic Kingdom when they are incorporated into "Celebrate the Magic," the nighttime show that projects moving images onto the façade of Cinderella Castle.
A segment that includes characters such as Ursula ("The Little Mermaid"), Maleficent ("Sleeping Beauty") and Chernabog ("Fantasia") will debut Sunday, Sept. 1. It will remain through Nov. 1, essentially lasting through the Halloween season.
"Celebrate the Magic" generally begins about 15 minutes before the evening's "Wishes" fireworks presentation. Disney World's website list two Sunday showings. 9:45 p.m. and 10:35 p.m., which basically surround the 10 p.m. "Wishes."
On evenings that Magic Kingdom is hosting Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, "Celebrate the Magic" will be seen after regular day guests have exited. The castle show will be at 9:15 p.m. for party people.
Double-checking dates and times on the park's website can help avert disappointment. Go to DisneyWorld.com, then click on Magic Kingdom, then entertainment, then Celebrate the Magic and the date for show availability.
