Little can be gained from impeaching Trump

Nancy Pelosi's comments and position regarding impeachment are understandable (“Pelosi has an obligation to act on impeachment,” Mar. 13). Initiating impeachment proceedings based on demonstrated incompetence, ethical and moral shortcomings, would only serve to inflame passions, conversations and finger pointing on both sides of the political spectrum.

Until a point is reached where the collective threat to American principles is so clear as to be universally understood, little can be gained through a premature attempt at impeachment.
