The eight-year nightmare of the Obama presidency is over and we have in Donald Trump a new president who has been busy from day one fulfilling his campaign promises to the American people.
What President Trump has accomplished over the past week is breathtaking. The liberal media and Democrats are apoplectic over the executive orders President Trump has issued. His cabinet nominees are brilliant and experienced: His new secretary of defense, retired Gen. James Mattis, has been compared to Gen. George Patton and, unlike the political hacks of the Obama administration, has actually led troops into battle. Mr. Trump also nominated the highly experienced and competent Gen. John Kelly to head the Department of Homeland Security and Sen. Jeff Sessions as attorney general.
One of Mr. Trump's first executive orders will result in a border wall along the U.S.-Mexican border. The "wall" is a national security priority. America is a sovereign nation and must keep the undocumented immigrants and drugs pouring in from Mexico and other Central American nations out of our country.
Mr. Trump's other major executive order to keep America safe calls for "extreme vetting" of Syrian refugees and barring entry to the U.S. by those traveling from seven predominantly Muslim countries for 90 days. President Barack Obama made it almost impossible for Syrian Christian refugees to gain admission to America, although they were horribly treated in their country.
President Trump also met with CEOs of major corporations and union leaders to bring manufacturing and other high-paying jobs to America. Finally, President Obama's signature achievement, the Affordable Care Act, is a complete disaster and under President Trump it will be repealed and replaced by the new Congress.
President Trump has achieved in one week what President Obama could not achieve in eight years.
