The Sun editorial, "A question of temperament" (Sept. 7), highlights President Barack Obama's artful handling of foreign diplomacy during his recent Asia trip to attend the G-20 summit. In his usual level-headed manner, he refused to engage in personal affronts but kept focused on the serious issues to be negotiated.
By contrast, imagine how a President Donald Trump would respond to perceived personal insults. Because of his narcissistic personality, he makes broad claims about what he can accomplish but gives no details of how he will do it. Only a naive person believes that he knows more about ISIS than the generals do or that he will make Mexico pay for his wall when he didn't raise the subject with the Mexican president in his recent visit to Mexico. Mr. Trump is all about Mr. Trump!
Hillary Clinton is probably the most knowledgeable and experienced person in my lifetime to be nominated to become the next president of the United States. Having served as first lady, senator and secretary of state, she has the insight, wisdom, understanding and temperament to work with the world community to keep our country safe as well as address the serious issues facing humanity such as climate change, something Mr. Trump does not believe is real.
In this complex world, it would be disastrous to elect a president who judges people on the basis of their race, gender, religion or country of origin as a way to bolster his ego and has little understanding of how to work with others on complicated issues.
