What is happening to our country that Donald Trump can win the Republican nomination for president ("The GOP nominee," May 5)? Not once during the debates or in interviews did we hear any real substantive policies. He showed nothing that would tell us he was ready to be president of the United States. Wrestling coach, maybe. Or a reality TV star.
He was unable to tell us his policies as he doesn't have any. He doesn't have any domestic policies except to deport illegal immigrants and build a wall. And who is it again who is going to pay for the wall? Another ridiculous idea.
He said he wants to put women in jail for having an abortion before changing his mind so he wouldn't sound so harsh. When asked, he didn't know who David Duke is although a lot of time has been spent discussing the Klu Klux Klan leader. I understand the anger being felt by many toward all of our institutions, but a narcissistic, arrogant 5-year-old is not the answer.
Pinch yourselves, Trumpsters, and grow up, be responsible adults in November and show that you are qualified to vote. This time, do the right thing and remember the seriousness of your decision. We are voting for president of the most powerful country on earth, not prom king.
