Regarding Alexander R. M. Boyle's commentary on Donald Trump's financial empire, I too see it as a potentially disqualifying factor in his bid for the presidency ("Trump's financial holdings should disqualify him from the presidency," Sept. 27).
Since his is a family business, I don't see him selling it or even putting it in a blind trust.
The Clinton Foundation raises similar questions. And both Mr. Trump and Hillary Clinton have stated that they will hand over the management of their foundations to their children if elected, but I don't believe that will be sufficient.
The legality of this issue needs to be thoroughly explored and I hope to see more articles and reports about it. Kudos to Mr. Boyle for his comments.
