The article "Baltimore County Council OKs zoning bill for Towson Row" (Jan. 20) states that the developer of Towson Row will pay for "some open space projects in the area" but does not say just how much the developer, Caves Valley, will be paying. Currently, Caves Valley will pay just $55,000 in open space fees, which is not adequate to buy any meaningful open space in the Towson area given the cost of land there. Meanwhile, the developer of the York 101 project, DMS Development, will not pay any open space fees as part of this separate large-scale development project. This lack of open space fees needs to be addressed immediately by our elected officials on the Baltimore County Council during this time of unprecedented development taking place in Towson.
