While watching the events in Baltimore with the African American-lawyer, Sunny Hostin, talking with Anderson Cooper of CNN, I could not believe the lack of common sense that the woman would say she was not comfortable with President Obama using the word "thugs" to describe those who looted, burned business and threw objects to cause boldly harm. Also that Mr. Cooper never called her out on it.
To not only criticize the president for saying thugs, she went even over the rainbow by saying it was racial. These people reporting, both black and white, showed that even the educated can be stupid. Along with them today, there was a African-American male saying the same ignorance but added why not add the "n-word."
They all need to educate themselves on the definition of "thug" in the dictionary; it means criminals, ruffians. It does not mean one race over another. Whether one is black or white, a thug is a thug when committing criminal acts, which includes the throwing of projectiles, looting and the burning of business.
It seems that this woman is always playing the race card, just as the man did also, while the white men stood silent. It seems they are excited over being able to report such events, and comments by the news media encourages the hate between the police and civilians as well as between blacks and whites.
I have to ask is this woman, Sunny Hostin, angry that she is black or does she along with others just sit and say words the fuel hate in young people to enhance the news events? Or is she just a Republican using this event to attack the president by trying to make it political like another man being asked questions?
Comments like this from adults add fuel to the fire and confusion in young people.
I feel her comment of the word "thugs" as being racial insults all African-Americans, not just in Baltimore but everywhere. This is why race problems continue by both black and whites.
Words used to refer to hate only instigate more hate.
