UM should cut garish uniforms before teams

The University of Maryland does not have the money to fund several "lesser" sport teams, so their answer is to drop them. Maybe if the football team didn't require so many dollars, these teams could still exist. Why does every football player require three helmets — the "flag" helmet (relatively ugly), the white turtle-shell helmet (totally ugly), and the black one (pretty good looking)?

Why do they need four uniform sets (shirts and pants) of different colors? None of this has apparently made them play any better.

Show a little fiscal restraint (although I guess we should be thankful there are only four colors in the state flag).
