I guess if teachers feel they should not pay for something they enjoy and that was earned in the past, they should talk to the older members who felt the need to have a union ("Mandatory union fees appealed to high court," Feb. 2).
Just remember that "every place that has a union needed it in the past." If you don't like paying a fee, it isn't quite the same as my giving some of my earnings in taxes to pay for your great health care and pensions or the freebies that people on welfare get on my dime? Let them get their own housing, cell phones, food, etc. by earning it like I did and still do.
All I ever get is the bill.
