Regarding recent reports from Syria, consider that the U.S. reportedly was to provide the Syrian rebels with guns, which generally are ineffective against airstrikes, but then apparently held back on delivering the weapons for fear they might later be turned against us.
However, today it is not realistic to assume that the chemical-weapons murderers of the Assad regime will allow sufficient investigation to convict them of war crimes.
Therefore, it seems incumbent upon all other countries to find ways to provide the Syrian rebels and citizens with gas masks immediately, such as possibly leafleting them into Syria, where, so far, 100,000 people have died and 1 million are homeless.
