In 2000, the presidential election was decided by the Supreme Court, and Republicans were pleased. It was the "law of the land." Some years later, that same court approved unlimited amounts of money that a Super PAC can donate toward an election and again, this was met with, "It's the "law of the land."
Last week, the Supreme Court handed down two decisions that did not meet with the approval of conservative Republicans, many of whom have referred to the court as "old men wearing black robes" ("LGBT advocates say Supreme Court decision on same sex marriage not end of fight," June 28). Sorry, guys (and gals), you can't have it both ways.
The Supreme Court is considered the official interpreter of our Constitution, and you will just have to grin and bear it.
