Sun is as anti-Trump as The Washington Post and New York Times

In both its news reporting and editorials, The Baltimore Sun offers a one-sided view of Donald Trump

As a longtime subscriber, I get most of my chuckles from the comic pages. However, from time to time I get some laughs from reading letters to the editor. The naive idea that The Baltimore Sun is fair and unbiased in its reporting is nothing short of "Hillary-ous" ("Trump's failures shouldn't be glossed over," April 21).

The nearly daily editorial bashing of President Donald Trump, his new administration and things of a conservative nature is so one-sided that only those who are intellectually challenged would fail to comprehend it. But let's get some facts straight: What President Trump has accomplished is astounding considering he was judged a long shot to win the presidency by the "unbiased" media. As far as the ban on persons from certain countries (which happen to be primarily Muslim) with ties to terrorism, it is up to the court system to judge the constitutionality, not a few leftist judges. The real disaster is the Obamacare health care boondoggle which has not lived up to its hype about reducing costs and has placed an increasing burden on taxpayers to fund it.

A tax overhaul is long overdue, and suggesting it will just benefit the wealthy and corporations just follows the usual Democratic narrative. The changing idea of global warming, climate change or cyclical climate variation is not universally believed nor proven. Mr. Trump is correct that NATO countries should be paying their "fair share." Now with regards to immigration, there is a two decades-plus-old law (signed by then-President Bill Clinton) duly passed by Congress that has not been fully enforced. If I am not mistaken, Chief Justice Roberts in his defense of the much-detested Obamacare indicated "Congress did not make laws to fail."

What the Trump administration has accomplished in its first 100 days is a distinct turnaround in mindset as to how laws are executed and enforced for the safety and economic benefit of legal residents and citizens of this country and not for those unlawfully present as well as unlawfully working. I totally agree that a free and unfettered press reporting is important, but when the reporting and editorializing is patently one-sided like that from this newspaper, it is no different than the biased propaganda we see from media sources like CNN and other newspapers like The New York Times and The Washington Post.
