Children shouldn't be hungry, but parents shouldn't expect handouts

I would never begrudge a child three nourishing meals each day. In some schools, children are already fed two meals and a snack each day. However, I hope taxpayers are prepared for future generations of parents who believe that, regardless of their income, they need not feed their children since they were taught that feeding their children is the government's job ("No more empty stomachs in class," June 5).
