Once again we see the mayor picking winners and losers ("Rawlings-Blake says she'll place limits on state aid to city liquor stores damaged in riot," June 17).
Someone under Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's leadership told the police force to stand down during the riots following Freddie Gray's funeral. If the police had been allowed to confront the looters maybe there would have been less loss of property.
The mayor is displaying her dislike of people who own liquor stores. She doesn't care about how the owners of these businesses will earn a living or what will happen to the city residents who work in them.
She has lived off taxpayer dollars for years and doesn't understand how important small businesses are to local residents. Under her leadership we've seen how the city schools have overspent their budget by $60 million dollars yet no one has been fired.
