Keeping their appointed rounds

When I opened my newspaper on another snow day, the picture of the mail carrier delivering the mail in the heavy snow caught my eye right away ("Record low hit Friday in wake of snowfall; highs in 20s forecast," March 6).

I am a preschool teacher and teach about community helpers. This is what I teach my children:

"Through rain or snow, or sleet or hail, we'll carry the mail." What a wonderful picture to go with that saying!

This picture will be cut out, laminated and used for when I teach about mail carriers. They are truly dedicated workers.

So are The Sun's news deliverers. My road was covered with snow, but my paper was on my driveway at 5:30 a.m.
