Only in government can you overspend, misspend, and fraudulently spend and still get more money to do more of the same — as a recent State Highway Administration audit demonstrates. Whether it's Congress or Annapolis, "We The People" are being robbed daily by the same politicians who claim to be looking out for our best interests. The government, or cabinet level agencies, continue to take our hard-earned money and then literally and figuratively throw it away.
If our money was actually spent properly I don't think most people would have an issue. However, since that's not the case, there are a lot of people who are outraged. Day after day, we see examples of how the government is not working for the people but only for themselves and their powerful lobbyists. Actually working for the people has been dead for quite some time now.
Our national and state officials are not representatives of their constituents any longer. They vote for what's best for their party, not their people. Annapolis continuously touts how times are tough and "hard decisions" have to be made. That's political speak for we need more of your money so we can do whatever we want and not what the people really need. Both parties are equally good at misspending our money and then simply increasing taxes or fees to cover the self-created shortfall. These outrageous acts and ploys are truly the only bipartisan efforts in government today.
