We are constantly hearing that all we need to do to make things work better in America is to use common sense. So where is it?
Let's see, is it common sense to raise taxes? No, the more taxes go up the less individual freedom. Are people of faith more likely to contribute to charity, raise children who succeed, create less crime and more opportunity? Well, yes — so why do liberals continually try to diminish the importance of faith? That doesn't sound like common sense to me. What they don't understand is nowhere in the Constitution does it say separation of church and state, yet they continually want to remove all references to faith.
Is it common sense to continually fund and send children to a wretched public school system in Baltimore? I don't think if elected officials had to personally pay the nearly $17,000 for their child, they would choose Baltimore City Public Schools, yet they continue to support the system. Is that common sense? So you see, common sense isn't common sense to a liberal. It's only justification to pick your pocket for more of your hard earned money and to further diminish individual freedom.
Real common sense would mean booting every politician out of office who votes to create dependency, increase the size of government and tear down the institutions that make America an exceptional nation. But that won't happen because no matter how liberals manipulate to get what they want, it is never good enough for them. They are never satisfied.
