Out-of-wedlock births are the problem

Any bright intern could tell us the "scope of the problem" involving school discipline for African-American kids ("Overpoliced and underprotected," Feb. 16). The issue is, what is the root cause? And the answer is way too many kids born to unwed mothers who are either overworked and/or into drugs. The kids from these liaisons are brought up angry at their place in the world and naturally act out in desperation.

The issue of kids born out of wedlock where only one parent participants should be a high priority. If there was money in solving that issue, maybe President Barack Obama's race czar would try to do something about it.
