While some parents appreciate the heat closure policy on extremely hot days, how are the missed athletic events made up ("Baltimore County school board modifies heat closing policy," Aug. 30)?
Are the athletes in non-air-conditioned schools penalized at playoff time?
Athletes all over the county are still practicing outside even if they sit in an air conditioned facility all day — while those without AC have the entire day deleted.
We need more equitable solutions than this.
