Schaefer's vision

I can recall a time in the late 1970s when the Inner Harbor was a wasteland and the city's skyline was a line of frightening black silhouettes.

We have the vision of William Donald Schaefer, the man I have always referred to as our "crazy uncle" mayor, to thank for remaking the Inner Harbor into a national treasure.
