The libertarian fallacy

Jay Hilgartner's letter "Bernie is no libertarian" (June 13) says it all to me about why I am a Democrat and not a Republican or libertarian.

Too bad there is so much complexity to life — and that human nature is a war between good and evil in each of us — that society needs to be governed.

Communism falls on its face because, contrary to its own doctrines, everyone isn't equal.

No governance equals no justice equals dictatorship. Like Stalin, one of the characters in George Orwell's classic 1945 novel "Animal Farm," without government those who are "more equal" inevitably come to the fore.
