Dan Rodricks had it completely wrong when talking about our state representatives being cowards because they changed their minds on same-sex marriage ("The O'Malleys and cowardice: Pulling punches on the left," Feb. 5).
They were elected to represent the will of the people who elected them. If they found that the majority of their constituents were against same-sex marriage, they were right to change their potential vote. The real coward in this situation is Gov.Martin O'Malley. He did not push same-sex marriage and higher taxes until after the election.
Too often, our elected officials try to push legislation on us that the majority do not want. The residents of our state are not all ultra-liberal.
