I think it’s time to have done with it and change TV critic David Zurawik’s column from “Z on TV” to “Z on Trump.” It used to be fun to read his reviews on television even when I didn’t agree with his assessment of a program or series. Now, however, in too many columns he finds a way to summarize whatever he is reviewing with an attack on President Donald Trump (“Zurawik: Hogan looks good on TV but does he have the media moves it would take to challenge Trump?” Feb. 15). Like President Trump or not, when I go to read Mr. Zurawik’s column (which I am doing less and less) I feel like the once-interesting media reviews have become an agenda to vent his anger at the president.
It seems time to bring in a TV reviewer and move Mr. Zurawik to the editorial page. His instincts seem to warrant that and, surely, he’d feel more comfortable there. Or, is the snarling editorial wolf more content hiding in the sheep’s clothing of a TV reviewer?
