I thoroughly agree with Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger's outlook with regard to punishing violent crime offenders (“Shellenberger: Keep violent offenders locked up,” March 9). Too many innocent victims have been killed or maimed, their families brokenhearted, yet this violent crime continues.

If an evil mind has proven evil intent there is one solution — lock 'em up and throw away the key.
