Pugh wastes taxpayer funds again and again

Isn’t it great to see the lack of leadership in City Hall? First, Mayor Catherine Pugh hires 20 new people at a taxpayer cost of $1.6 million (“Baltimore Mayor Pugh adds 20 positions as mayor’s office continues to expand,” Feb. 28) then encourages city students (those with a passing grade of 11-to-18 percent on PARCC tests) to skip class.

Mayor Pugh not only encourages kids to skip class, she is using taxpayer funds, again, to bus the kids, buy T-shirts and lunch (“Baltimore student protests and the $100,000 field trip,” March 7). Where are the checks and balances? The deterioration will only continue the downward slide until meaningful leadership is put in place.
