Stronach Group proves poor Pimlico stewards

The Stronach Group has spent almost 90 percent of its state renovation subsidies to pay for improvements at Laurel Park rather than at Pimlico Race Course, state records show. (Kevin Richardson, Baltimore Sun video)

The Stronach Group is making me into a socialist (“Mayor Pugh is right to be angry at Stronachs,” Feb. 25). I am so sick of elitists who care nothing for the needs of others.

Follow the money, as my husband always reminds me. The city of Baltimore is in need, but who cares? Not the Stronach Group. With a plan to revitalize Pimlico and a huge neighborhood with multi-use projects, the Stronach Group rejects that plan and wants a facility in Laurel like their high-end facility in Florida.

My answer to them is go to Florida and stay there and leave your hands off the Preakness, the second leg of the Triple Crown and a century-old legacy. God save Pimlico.
