Hogan's Israel executive order might land him in court

Gov. Larry Hogan believes the current boycott movement is discriminatory against the state of Israel and Israeli businesses, but his executive order on the matter offers not a single mention of the reason behind the boycott — Israel's military occupation of Palestine and Israel's appalling treatment of Palestinians and Palestinian businesses (“Hogan executive order denies contracts to firms that boycott Israel," Oct. 23). The growing support for the boycott among the faith community, the universities and cultural institutions, as well as the business sector in the United States is testament to Americans' belief in peaceful and nonviolent resistance to Israel's illegal occupation. The boycott is not discriminatory, it's a vibrant expression of freedom of speech. A fact that Governor Hogan will undoubtedly learn in court.
