The Sun enables union-backed John Olszewski Jr.'s 'thug politics'

Brochin, not 'Johnny O,' is the best choice for Baltimore County executive.
In recent months, The Baltimore Sun has chosen to publish letters to the editor disparaging Sen. Jim Brochin and buttressing Johnny Olszewski's false credentials ("Vote Johnny O for the sake of your wallet," April 17). The labor unions have endorsed and invested in "Johnny O," and this is thug politics at play.
We need Senator Brochin as our next county executive because he is going to listen to all sides, not do the bidding of out-of-state interests. Senator Brochin brought us our first ever Baltimore County elected school board. He supported same-sex marriage and spent 16 years in Annapolis fighting to make lives safer for women by passing legislation that enables them to face their accuser in court, protecting womens' right to choose and to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.
Mr. Olszewski voted against the assault weapons ban and for allowing domestic abusers to keep their guns. Senator Brochin voted for the assault weapons ban in 2013 and was a sponsor of the bill to ban bump stocks this year in Annapolis. Senator Brochin has made Baltimore County safer.
This race is about representing the citizens of Baltimore County, not national labor organizations and their agendas. Someone should remind "Johnny O" and The Sun of that.
