White House appears to fear the truth

In the article about the FBI pushing back against the release of the “secret memo” about covert surveillance during the 2016 campaign (“FBI pushes back at Trump,” Jan. 31), it would appear the Republicans are as adept at flavoring the news to make President Donald Trump look better as he claims the press does against him. The cry of “fake news” has been Mr. Trump’s battle cry since almost day one of his presidency. He is actually wearing it out.

The latest split between the White House and the FBI shows there is a serious problem in the actual truth being released. If the White House version is OK to release to the public despite the caveat of it being secret, then why not release both forms of the report? I would not be surprised to see President Trump fire both FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in his move to get rid of the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian meddling in the election.

What is the White House scared of, the truth? As Pilate said “what is truth”? Apparently, to the White House, truth is what they want it to be. Release both versions of the memo and let Americans decide for themselves. I think we are smart enough to recognize fake news! Wonder who the next FBI director will be? How about Eric Trump?
