Virginia Peninsula residents react to the controversy involving Gov. Ralph Northam appearing in a racist yearbook photo.

I found Linda G. Morris’ recent commentary (“Let Northam govern,” Feb. 8) to be an enlightened approach to the issue of Virginia’s governor and to the central problem of racism. Through the telling of personal family history and honest self-examination, her meaningful words hit the nail solidly.

Nothing I have yet read comes close. It should be published nationwide. Thank you, Ms. Morris.
