Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby is smart to avoid debates with her two contenders, Ivan Bates and Thiru Vignarajah ("Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby irks opponents with tactic she once criticized: delaying debates," April 30). Basically, she has absolutely nothing to brag about during her four-year term and would get totally massacred in a debate. The best thing for her to do is to keep hiding and refusing to debate.
If, as her campaign manager Zack Marcus states, "we are committed to participating in debates and the state's attorney is more the happy to defend her record," why doesn't she do so? I will tell you why. She is afraid that her competitors will bring up her miserable failures during the Baltimore riots and the attempted prosecution of the police officers in the Freddie Gray case without evidence. Ms. Mosby is weak and folds to public opinion, and her opponents, and everybody else, recognize it.
So keep hiding, Marilyn, as it is your best tactic so far to win the election.
