In regards to medically assisted suicide, not everyone wants to live forever

The law allows patients with fewer than than six months to live to request end-of-life drugs.

Thank you for the letter from Mark E. Rifkin (ā€œAssisted suicide is an individual choice,ā€ Mar. 4). We have become a country of interfering busy bodies, telling people what they can do and not do.

It was Luis Bunuel that said in his book ā€œMy Last Sigh:ā€ an even more horrible death is one that is kept at bay by the miracles of modern medicine, a death that never ends. In the name of Hippocrates, doctors have invented the most exquisite form of torture ever known to man: survival.
