In regards to medically assisted suicide, not everyone wants to live forever

Thank you for the letter from Mark E. Rifkin (“Assisted suicide is an individual choice,” Mar. 4). We have become a country of interfering busy bodies, telling people what they can do and not do.

It was Luis Bunuel that said in his book “My Last Sigh:” an even more horrible death is one that is kept at bay by the miracles of modern medicine, a death that never ends. In the name of Hippocrates, doctors have invented the most exquisite form of torture ever known to man: survival.

There comes a time to let go.
