Reporter Don Markus has been around University of Maryland sports long enough to realize that it is highly unlikely that UM will secure a top athletic director as long as Wallace Loh is the school's president ("Frustrated with the AD search process, Maryland boosters raise concerns with Loh, Board of Regents," May 8).

Mr. Loh's handling of Kevin Anderson is still unexplained, and his extremely bad unilateral decision to change the name of Byrd Stadium was contrary to popular opinion. The athletic department changes in policies and procedures have resulted, at least in my little part of the world, five of my friends not renewing their Terrapin Club memberships resulting is a loss of 20 football season tickets.

The empty stadium could use all the people it can get. I was a football season ticket holder from 1978-2016 and I remain a Terrapin Club member since 1982. It pains me to see such a deterioration.
