Hey, GOP, save tax dollars by cutting intel

If Republicans think U.S. intelligence agencies are naive and unschooled, perhaps it's time to eliminate them altogether.

I am very surprised that the budget-conscious Republican Party has overlooked this obvious way of cutting billions of dollars from the federal budget — simply eliminate all of our "intelligence" agencies (“Trump attacks his government’s own intelligence officials’ views,” Jan. 31).

President Donald Trump says that the agencies' officials are "passive" and "naive," evidently easily taken in by other countries and totally ignorant of the truth that he alone knows. And thousands of agents, offices, spies, sophisticated spycraft, computer systems, etc.? They are worthless! So why are we paying them? Where is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on this?
