Who will speak for Baltimore if not The Sun?

The Baltimore Sun endorses Governor Larry Hogan for re-election. (Kenneth K. Lam, Baltimore Sun video)

Let history reflect that two years into the presidency of Republican Donald Trump, when white nationalists are more empowered than they have been since Jim Crow or longer, and on the very day that bombs were sent to the last Democratic president and the last Democratic presidential nominee, The Baltimore Sun, the only daily newspaper of a majority black city that is home to the NAACP's national headquarters, endorsed for re-election a Republican governor whose first major act was to cancel a light rail line that would have served black Baltimore neighborhoods, and it endorsed him over the former head of the NAACP who would be the first black governor of Maryland (“Sun endorsement: Hogan for Maryland governor,” Oct. 23).
