Don't like Andy Harris? Then you can't vote for Larry Hogan, either

Rep. Andy Harris faced a raucous crowd at a town hall meeting in Joppa Thursday evening where issues such as gun control, immigration and climate change came up.
Patrick G. Muth's recent op-ed (“Md. Rep. Andy Harris is no patriot,” July 23) hit all the right notes about Dr. Harris. He wrote about the attacks on the Affordable Care Act by this physician. He also stated that Dr. Harris has "blind subservience to a cult of personality".
Unfortunately he also stated: "As a moderate liberal with pro-business leanings and a commitment to the capitalist system … I proudly broke party ranks to vote for our Republican Gov. Larry Hogan. "
Mr. Muth, and all other Marylanders, please pay attention. Mr. Hogan may be a generally decent man, but he is a Republican which means he rules as a Republican. That includes undoing years of progressive policies and attacking needed programs like storm water management, which Republicans called "the rain tax" until Ellicott City was destroyed — again. Oops.
Mr. Hogan will also oversee redistricting if he is re-elected. That would probably mean another Republican, just like Dr. Harris, in Congress to assist President Donald Trump with the dismantling of our economy, health care, safety nets, and national security.
Your vote for a Democrat as governor goes far beyond just that office. A vote for Hogan is a vote for Messrs. Trump and Harris and Harris 2.0.
