Use cameras to catch all forms of distracted drivers

Australian state New South Wales is attempting to persuade the public to put down their smartphones while driving by rolling out cameras to prosecute distracted motorists.

Those cell phone enforcement cameras (“Cell phone enforcement cameras: a potentially life-saving idea worth trying,” Dec. 17) ought to monitor all forms of distracted driving to include eating, reading, applying makeup and driving with a dog in one’s lap.
