Late Norman Lauenstein will be remembered fondly | READER COMMENTARY

The seal for Baltimore County government. (Baltimore Sun staff).
The seal for Baltimore County government. (Baltimore Sun staff).

Norman W. Lauenstein, who died on Jan. 23, served as a member of the Baltimore County Council for 16 years from 1974 to 1990, never forgetting where he came from or who elected him. Always a gentleman, he represented his Essex District with loyalty and distinction while knowing how government functioned. He was always approachable, with a trademark smile, and always willing to help the down and out or needy.

I’m so glad this good man, who served his local residents, lived to see another gentleman with similar attributes be sworn in as president and show the world how compassionate the United States is and will always be.
