Residents got what they voted for in Mayor Catherine Pugh

Del. Cheryl Glenn and Baltimore City delegation call for Mayor Catherine Pugh to resign. (Kenneth K. Lam, Baltimore Sun video)

I have been following politics in Maryland for more than twenty years and am dismayed, as others are, with the "Healthy Holly" scandal associated with Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh (“Mayor Catherine Pugh must resign,” Apr. 8).

My observations are that being politically corrupted or corruptible is almost a requirement to hold many of Maryland's political offices. Why are the voters again surprised they get what they vote for?
