Schaller wrong on corporate speech

Apparently, Thomas Schaller was unfamiliar with the U.S. Supreme Court's rulings when he criticized Mitt Romney's remarks concerning corporations and free speech ("We, the corporations," Aug. 24).

The courts have indeed said that corporations have the same free speech rights as individuals. To imply that Mr. Romney snatched the words out of thin air is less than honest on Mr. Schaller's part.
